What’s the KC Mark?

The KC Mark is the Korea Certification that regulates the safety standards of all electronic and electrical products on the Korean market. Electronic and electrical products for the Korean market must fulfil a series of stipulated safety requirements, electromagnetic compatibility testing, and energy efficiency testing to obtain the ‘KC Mark’, a mandatory mark issued by an accredited body.

Why Folio Mirror?

Folio Mirror has received the KC Mark as part of the roll-out of Folio Selfie mirrors throughout Foot Locker stores globally. Achieving this certification means that the Folio Mirrors range of interactive digital mirrors can now be deployed throughout Korea for permanent installations, live events and marketing activations.

Why is this important?

South Korea is the world’s 10th largest economy with a GDP of 1.7 trillion USD and Korean consumers love global brands. So much so, the top 10 luxury fashion brands sold merchandise for more than a billion dollars in 2019. However, global brands experience difficulties entering and expanding within the local market due to stringent regulations and lack of experience with the Korean consumer. Domestic players, such as Lotte, Hyundai, Shinsegae, GS, CJ, and E-land, dominate the marketplace, owning multiple retail channels, therefore adhering to local regulations is crucial for engaging these organisations.
